Cape Town – Check your oil, tyre pressure and dust off your steed because the annual Africa Bike Week is coming to the Eastern Cape’s fast lane next year.

Africa Bike Week – presented by Harley-Davidson since 2009 – is the largest free motorcycle event in South Africa and after KwaZulu-Natal had the pleasure of hosting this event in Margate for eight years, the event will be held in East London this year.

Whether you are dreaming of life on two wheels or already experiencing the thrill of being on two wheels, Africa Bike Week is open to all riders and riding enthusiasts of all motorcycles makes. The festival will entertain visitors with some of the top bands and performers and there will also be traders and an expo where you can view (and dream and drool about) the latest Harley motorcycles and official rally merchandise.

Some of the event highlights include a mass ride where you can get in line as thousands of bikes will roar through the streets of East London, free Harley-Davidson demo rides (even if you don’t know how to ride), custom bike shows and stunt shows including trail bike and extreme bike shows with thrilling tricks.

Interesting fact: Harley-Davidson with its elegant design and distinctive sound, which the American motorcycle manufacturer filed a sound trademark application for in 1994, has instilled the freedom of riding on two wheels with the wind in your hair and the open road in front of you since 1903.

Harley-Davidson has a loyal brand community with the Harley Owners Group (HOG) and if you play your cards right you can even arrive in a car on the 27th and leave in Harley-Davidson on the 30th… online registration is for free and, if that is not a steal already, through registering online you stand a chance to win a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle (granted you attend the event).
